[목회서신] 생각은 미래를 창조하는 씨앗입니다 | Thought is the Seed that Creates the Future

하나님은 말씀으로 천지를 창조하셨습니다(히 11:3). 태초에 말씀이 있었습니다(요 1:1). 하나님의 말씀이 선포될 때 말씀이 현실이 되었습니다. “빛이 있으라 하시매 빛이 있었고 빛이 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라“(창 1:3). 하나님이 빛을 말씀하실 때 빛이 창조되었습니다. 말씀이 창조의 능력입니다. 하나님의 형상을 따라 지음 받은 우리는 말씀의 능력, 언어의 능력을 깊이 깨달아야 합니다. 우리가 하는 말이 미래를 창조합니다. 우리가 하는 말이 사람들에게 감동을 줍니다. 상처를 치유합니다. 쓰러진 사람을 일으킵니다. 때로는 우리가 하는 말 때문에 상처를 받는 분들이 있습니다. 낙심하는 분들이 있습니다. 그래서 우리는 말할 때마다 깊이 생각하면서 말을 해야 합니다. 우리가 하는 말이 창조력, 감화력, 치유력, 그리고 영향력이 있기 때문입니다.

우리 인생은 말하는 대로 됩니다. 물론 우리가 하는 모든 말이 현실이 되는 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 우리가 어떤 말을 반복해서 말하면 그 말이 능력으로 나타납니다. 우리가 하는 말에 믿음이 담기고, 확신이 담기고, 감정이 담길 때 그 말이 능력으로 나타납니다. 우리 인생을 바꾸는 길은 우리가 하는 말을 바꾸는 것입니다. 하나님은 ”너희 말이 내 귀에 들린 대로 내가 너희에게 행하리니“(민 14;28하)라고 말씀합니다. 하나님은 우리가 믿음의 말, 긍정의 말, 사람을 살리는 말, 상처를 치유하는 말, 감사하는 말, 그리고 소망을 주는 말을 하길 원하십니다. 하지만 우리가 경험하는 것처럼 좋은 말을 하는 것이 쉽지 않습니다. 긍정적인 말보다 부정적인 말을 할 때가 많습니다. 그래서 우리는 날마다 의식적으로 언어의 훈련을 해야 합니다.

여기서 우리는 중요한 질문을 하게 됩니다. 우리의 언어는 어디서 나오는 것일까요? 우리의 언어는 우리 생각에서 나옵니다. 언어의 뿌리는 마음의 생각에 있습니다. 태초에 하나님의 말씀이 있기 전에 하나님의 생각이 있었습니다. 생각이 없는 말씀은 존재할 수 없습니다. 먼저 생각이 있고, 그 생각이 말씀이 됩니다. 하나님은 생각하시는 분입니다. 하나님은 생각을 통해 천지창조를 꿈꾸시고, 상상하시고, 계획하시고, 디자인하셨습니다. 하나님은 가장 탁월한 디자이너이십니다. 하나님의 생각 속에는 색깔이 함께 담겨 있었습니다. 우리가 감탄하는 아름다운 꽃들의 색깔이 모두 하나님의 생각 속에서 출발했습니다. 우리가 경탄하는 저녁노을 하늘의 색깔도 하나님의 생각 속에서 출발했습니다. 우리가 자주 하는 생각이 우리 영혼의 색깔을 만듭니다.

우리가 하는 말이 결과를 낳는 것처럼 생각도 결과를 낳습니다. 하나님은 예레미야를 통해 놀라운 말씀을 하십니다. “땅이여 들으라 내가 이 백성에게 재앙을 내리리니 이것이 그들의 생각의 결과라”(렘 6:19). 그들에게 임한 재앙이 그들의 생각의 결과였습니다. 우리의 생각에 따라 복이 임하기도 하고 재앙이 임하기도 한다는 말씀입니다. 그래서 우리가 하는 말을 잘 선택해야 하듯이, 생각도 잘 선택해야 합니다. 생각은 씨앗과 같습니다. 우리가 하는 생각이, 씨앗이 되어 열매를 맺습니다. 씨앗의 법칙은 단순합니다. 우리가 심은 씨앗의 종류대로 열매를 거두는 것입니다. 그와 같이 우리 생각의 종류대로 열매를 거두게 됩니다. 제임스 알렌은 “좋든 나쁘든 어떤 생각을 끊임없이 계속하면, 그 영향이 성격과 환경으로 이어지는 것은 분명한 사실이다.”라고 말했습니다. 그래서 생각을 잘 선택해야 합니다. 생각은 미래를 창조하는 씨앗입니다.

우리는 생각을 따라 말하고, 우리가 생각하고 말하는 것을 따라 행동하게 됩니다. 우리가 생각하고 말하는 것이 현실이 됩니다. 물론 모든 생각이 현실이 되는 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 우리가 자주 생각하고 반복해서 생각하고 집중해서 생각할 때 그 생각은 현실이 될 가능성이 높아집니다. 생각은 파장을 일으킵니다. 생각은 에너지입니다. 생각이 아이디어와 사람과 물질을 견인해옵니다. 그래서 깊이 숙고하는 중에 목표를 글로 쓰고, 글로 쓴 목표를 따라 기도할 때 그 목표가 구체적으로 이루어지는 것을 경험하게 됩니다. 하나님은 우리가 구하는 것과 생각하는 것에 따라 역사하십니다. “우리 가운데서 역사하시는 능력대로 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 모든 것에 더 넘치도록 능히 하실 이에게”(엡 3:20).

생각하는 훈련을 하는 사람은 지혜로운 사람입니다. 고든 맥도날드는 “생각한다는 것은 위대한 일이다. 마치, 잘 단련되고 다듬어진 육체가 경주에서 잘 달릴 수 있듯이, 잘 훈련되고 온전히 형성된 정신이 최선의 생각을 해낼 수 있는 것이다.”라고 말합니다. 생각하는 훈련은 우리의 생각을 잘 분별해서 그리스도에게 복종시키는 것입니다. “하나님 아는 것을 대적하여 높아진 것을 다 무너뜨리고 모든 생각을 사로잡아 그리스도에게 복종하게 하니”(고후 10:5). 생각하는 훈련을 통해 생각의 근육을 강화하십시오. 생각의 근육이 강화될 때 우리는 깊이 생각하고, 다각적으로 생각하고, 성경적으로 생각할 수 있습니다. 좋은 생각, 긍정적 생각, 믿음의 생각, 성경적 생각을 통해 아름다운 미래를 창조하시길 빕니다.

Thought is the Seed that Creates the Future

God created the universe with His Word (Hebrews 11:3). In the beginning, there was the Word (John 1:1). When the Word of God is proclaimed, the Word becomes a reality. "And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light." (Genesis 1:3). When God spoke of light, the light was created. The Word is the power of creation. We, who were created in God's image, must realize the power of the word and the power of language deeply. The words we say create the future. The words we speak move people. It heals wounds. It raises a fallen person. At times there are those that are hurt by our words. Some are discouraged. Therefore, whenever we speak, we have to think deeply as we speak. Because the words we speak have the power to create, move, heal, and influence.

Our life becomes what we say. Of course, not everything we say becomes a reality. But when we say a particular word repeatedly, it manifests itself as power. Those words appear as power when our words contain faith, conviction, and emotions. The way to change our lives is to change what we say. God says, "I will do to you the very thing I heard you say." (Numbers 14:28b). God wants us to speak words of faith, words of affirmation, words that save people, words that heal wounds, words of gratitude, and words of hope. But, as we experience, it's not easy to say good things. We often speak negative words rather than positive words. So we have to train our language every day consciously.

Here we ask an important question. Where does our language come from? Our language comes from our thoughts. The roots of language are in the thoughts of the heart. In the beginning, before there was the word of God, there was the thought of God. Words without thought cannot exist. First, there is a thought, and that thought becomes the Word. God is a thinker. God dreamed, imagined, planned, and designed the creation of the heavens and the earth through his thoughts. God is the greatest designer. Within God's thoughts contained colors. The colors of the beautiful flowers we admire all started from God's thoughts. The color of the sky at sunset, which we admire, also started from the thoughts of God. The thoughts we often have are the colors of our souls.

Just as our words have consequences, so do our thoughts. God speaks wonderfully through Jeremiah. "Hear, you earth: I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to my words and have rejected my law." (Jeremiah 6:19). The calamity that fell upon them was the result of their thinking. Depending on our thoughts, blessings and calamities may come. So, just as we must choose our words well, we must also choose our thoughts well. Thoughts are like seeds. Our thoughts become seeds and bear fruit. The seed principle is simple. We reap the fruits according to the kind of seeds we planted. In the same way, we will reap the fruit according to the kind of our thoughts. James Allen said, "A particular train of thought persisted in, be it good or bad, cannot fail to produce its results on the character and circumstances." Therefore you have to choose your thoughts wisely. Thoughts are the seeds that create the future.

We say what we think and act according to what we think and say. What we think and say becomes a reality. Of course, not all ideas become a reality. But the more we think, the more repeatedly we think, the more focus we think, and the more likely that thought will become a reality. Thoughts make waves. Thought is energy. Thoughts drive ideas, people, and matter. So, when you write down your goals while pondering deeply, and pray according to your written goals, you experience the concrete fulfillment of your goals. God works according to what we ask for and what we think. "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." (Ephesians 3:20).

A person who disciplines their thought is a wise person. Gordon MacDonald said it is a great thing to think. Just as a well-trained and polished body can run well in a race, a well-trained and fully formed mind can produce the best thoughts. The discipline to think is to discern our thoughts and submit them to Christ. "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5). Strengthen your thinking muscles by disciplining your thoughts. When our thinking muscles are strengthened, we can think deeply, multi-dimensionally, and biblically. May you create a beautiful future through good, positive, faith, and biblical thoughts.
