꿈은 하나님의 거룩한 자극입니다!

하나님은 우리를 있는 모습 그대로 사랑하십니다. 하지만 있는 모습 그대로 남아 있는 것을 원치 않으십니다. 하나님은 우리가 지속적으로 변화하고 성장하고 성숙하기 원하십니다. 특별히 하나님은 꿈을 통해 우리를 변화시키십니다. 꿈은 하나님의 거룩한 자극입니다. 사람은 변화를 원하면서도 변화를 원치 않습니다. 이것이 인간의 실존이며, 인간의 역설입니다. 변화한다는 것은 살아 있다는 것을 의미합니다. 죽어 있는 것은 변하지 않습니다. 죽어 있는 것은 자극을 받지 않습니다. 자극을 주어도 자극을 받을 수가 없습니다. 그 이유는 죽어 있기 때문입니다.

우리에게 변화가 없다면 살아 있지만 실상은 죽어 있는 것입니다. 우리가 자극을 느끼지 못한다면 살아 있지만 실상은 죽어 있는 것입니다. 죽은 몸은 자극을 받지 않습니다. 하나님이 우리에게 꿈을 심어주시는 까닭은 꿈을 통해 우리가 변화하고 성장하길 원하시기 때문입니다. 하나님은 우리가 아름답게 성장하길 원하십니다. 아름다움은 성장에 있습니다. 부모는 자녀들이 성장하는 모습을 볼 때 무한한 기쁨을 누립니다. 성장한다는 것은 아름다움을 드러내는 것입니다. 우리는 안주하는 것을 좋아합니다. 안주하면 편안하기 때문입니다. 하지만 가장 위험한 것은 안주하는 것입니다. 변화해야 할 때 변화하지 않으면 고통이 기다리는 것을 보게 됩니다.

하나님은 꿈을 통해 우리를 자극시키십니다. 하나님이 주시는 자극은 우리를 움직이는 힘입니다. 거룩한 에너지입니다. 자극은 우리를 변화시키고, 우리를 움직이게 하는 놀라운 추진력입니다. 꿈은 우리로 하여금 현실에 안주하지 말고, 새로운 미래를 향해 도전하게 만듭니다. 그런 면에서 꿈은 하나님의 거룩한 자극입니다. 우리는 자극을 통해 깨어나게 됩니다. 자극을 통해 깨닫게 됩니다. 자극을 통해 새롭게 태어나게 됩니다. 자극을 통해 우리의 잠재력이 깨어납니다. 자극을 통해 잠자던 지성이 깨어납니다.

모든 자극이 좋은 것이 아닙니다. 나쁜 자극이 있습니다. 죄를 짓게 만드는 나쁜 자극이 있습니다. 우리를 망가뜨리는 자극이 있습니다. 그런 자극은 경계해야 합니다. 우리는 자극을 분별할 줄 알아야 합니다. 분별을 통해 좋은 자극을 취해야 합니다. 하나님은 우리에게 꿈을 주시고, 그 꿈을 성취할 수 있도록 좋은 자극을 받도록 도와주십니다. 하나님은 어떻게 우리를 자극 시켜 주시는 것일까요? 제가 경험했던 거룩한 자극을 몇 가지 나누고 싶습니다.

첫째, 하나님은 말씀을 통해 우리를 자극시켜 주십니다. 말씀은 하나님의 능력입니다. 말씀 속에 하나님의 지식과 지혜가 담겨 있습니다. 말씀 속에 인생 문제의 해결책이 담겨 있습니다. 말씀은 영혼의 양식입니다. 우리가 말씀을 읽고 듣고 묵상할 때 성령님을 통해 우리 영혼은 깨어나게 됩니다. 성령님은 말씀과 함께 역사하십니다. 우리가 말씀을 들을 때 성령님이 함께 역사하심으로 우리를 깨우쳐 주십니다. 우리를 변화시켜 주십니다.

둘째, 하나님은 좋은 만남을 통해 우리를 자극시켜 주십니다. 인생은 만남입니다. 새로운 만남이 새로운 자극을 줍니다. 새로운 세계를 열어줍니다. 또한 좋은 만남이 좋은 자극을 줍니다. 어떤 만남이 좋은 만남일까요? 좋은 만남은 우리 안에 있는 무한한 가능성을 볼 수 있도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 우리를 믿어주고, 우리의 재능과 은사를 개발할 수 있도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 하나님을 가까이 하도록 도와주는 만남입니다.

셋째, 하나님은 독서를 통해 우리를 자극시켜 주십니다. 책은 하나님의 아이디어입니다. 책 속에 길이 있습니다. 하지만 책을 읽지 않는다면 책이 제공해 주는 모든 혜택을 누릴 수가 없습니다. 책은 좋은 생각을 통해 우리를 자극시켜 줍니다. 우리의 원초적인 자극은 언제나 생각에서 출발합니다. 새로운 생각이 우리의 생각에 접촉 될 때 잠자던 지성이 깨어나게 됩니다. 생각이 열쇠입니다. 좋은 생각은 결과를 낳습니다. 우리가 읽는 것이 우리를 변화시킵니다. 책은 우리의 꿈을 상기시켜주고, 꿈의 의미를 깨닫게 해 줍니다. 책은 어떻게 꿈을 성취할 수 있는지를 가르쳐 줍니다.

넷째, 하나님은 고난을 통해 우리를 자극시켜 주십니다. 고난은 고통입니다. 고통은 우리를 자극시켜 줍니다. 그런 면에서 고통은 거룩한 선물입니다. 고통이 없다면 우리는 무디게 살아갈 것입니다. 고통을 좋아할 사람은 없습니다. 하지만 고통이 없다면 변화도 없습니다. 모든 변화는 고통이라는 대가를 지불해야 합니다. 하나님이 우리를 크게 축복하시기 원할 때, 큰 사명을 맡기시길 원할 때 먼저 고통을 보내십니다. 먼저 시련과 역경의 쓴 잔을 마시게 합니다. 그리함으로 큰 그릇, 거룩한 그릇이 되게 하십니다. 하나님이 꿈을 통해 주시는 거룩한 자극을 환영하십시오. 말씀, 좋은 만남, 독서, 그리고 고난을 통해 주시는 하나님의 거룩한 자극에 마음 문을 여십시오. 거룩한 자극을 통해 아름답게 변화하고 성장하시길 빕니다.

Dream is God’s Holy Stimulus!

God loves us as who we are. But He does not want us to remain as we are. God wants us to constantly change, grow, and mature. Especially, God transforms us through dreams. Dreams are God’s holy stimuli. People want change but do not want to be changed. This is the human existence, and this is the human paradox. To change means to be alive. A dead thing does not change. A dead thing is not stimulated. It cannot be stimulated though we stimulate it. The reason is because it is dead.

If there is no change, we are dead although we are alive. If we do not feel the stimulus, we are dead although we are alive. A dead body cannot be stimulated. God gives us dreams because He wants us to change and grow through the dreams. God wants us to grow beautifully. Beauty is in growth. Parents enjoy extreme joy when they see their children growing up. Growing is to reveal beauty. We like to be content with the status quo. Because it is comfortable. But it is most dangerous when we are content with the status quo. You will see pain waiting if you do not change when you must.

God stimulates us through dreams. God’s stimulus is the power to move us. It is holy energy. Stimulation is an amazing driving force that transforms us and moves us. Dreams make us challenge ourselves for the new future, not in the status quo. In that sense, the dream is the holy stimulus of God. We are awakened through stimulation. We realize through stimulation. We are born again through stimulation. Stimulation awakens our potential. Through stimulation, the asleep intelligence wakes up.

Not all stimuli are good. There are bad stimuli. There are bad stimuli that can lead us to sin. There are stimuli that can lead us to ruin. Such stimuli should be alerted. We need to discern the stimuli. You must take good stimuli with discernment. God gives us dreams and helps us get good stimuli to fulfill the dreams. How does God stimulate us? I would like to share some of the holy stimuli which I have experienced.

First, God stimulates us through the Word. The Word is God’s power. God’s knowledge and wisdom are contained in the Word. The solution to the problem of life is in the Word. The Word is the food for the soul. When we read, hear, and meditate on the Word, our spirit is awakened through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works with the Word. When we hear the Word, the Holy Spirit works with us to keep us awake. He transforms us.

Second, God stimulates us through good encounters. Life is an encounter. A new encounter gives a new stimulus. It opens up a new world. Also a good encounter gives us good stimulation. What kind of encounter is a good encounter? A good encounter helps us to see the infinite possibilities within us. A good encounter trusts us and helps us to develop our talents and gifts. A good encounter helps us to draw near to God.

Third, God stimulates us through reading. Books are God’s ideas. There is a way in books. But if you do not read the book, you cannot enjoy all the benefits that the book offers. Books simulates us with good thoughts. Our original stimulus always starts with thoughts. When a new thought makes contact with our previous thoughts, the asleep intelligence is awakened. Thought is the key. Good thoughts yield results. What we read changes us. Books remind us of our dreams and make us realize the meaning of the dreams. Books teach us how to fulfill dreams.

Fourth, God stimulates us through hardships. Hardship is pain. Pain stimulates us. In that sense, pain is a holy gift. Without pain, we will live bluntly. No one likes pain. But without pain there is no change. Every change must pay the price of pain. When God wants to bless us greatly and when He wants to entrust us with a great mission, He first sends us pain. First God lets us drink the bitter cup of trials and adversity. By doing that He allows us to be a big and holy vessel. Welcome the holy stimulus that God gives through your dreams. Open your heart to the holy stimuli of God through the Word, good encounter, reading, and hardship. I pray that you will be changed beautifully and grow through these holy stimuli.
