[목회서신] 작은 점들을 연결시키는 지혜 | Wisdom of Connecting Little Dots

우리 인생을 만드는 것은 작은 점들입니다. 스티브 잡스는 “인생은 점들의 연속이다. 우리가 찍는 그 점들은 어떤 식으로든 미래로 연결된다.”라고 말했습니다. 그는 작은 점들 속에 담긴 놀라운 잠재력을 볼 줄 알았던 사람입니다. 우리 삶을 변화시키고 성장하게 만든 것들은 사실 작은 점들입니다. 변화를 위해서는 거듭 작은 것의 소중함을 깨달아야 합니다. 모든 변화는 작은 것에서 시작됩니다. 위대한 성취도 작은 것에서 시작되었습니다. 작은 것을 무시하고, 작은 것을 소홀히 하는 것은 지혜로운 것이 아닙니다. 지혜는 작은 것 속에 담긴 무한한 잠재력을 보는 것입니다. 작은 것이 점점 커져 놀라운 변화를 창조하는 것을 보는 안목이 통찰력입니다. 제 인생을 돌이켜 보면 저의 인생을 만들어 온 것은 작은 점들입니다. 그 작은 점들을 연결시키면 하나님의 섭리의 스토리를 읽을 수 있습니다. 저의 인생을 변화시킨 작은 점들을 몇 가지 소개하고 싶습니다.

첫째, 하나님과의 만남이 작은 점입니다. 제가 예수님을 만난 것은 고등학교 시험을 마친 때였습니다. 그때 예수님을 제 개인의 구주로 영접했습니다. 그 한 순간이 제 생애를 바꾸어 놓았습니다. 하나님을 만났을 때 하나님이 저를 사랑하시고 저에 대한 놀라운 계획을 갖고 계신다는 것을 깨달았습니다. 하나님을 만남으로 저는 꿈을 꾸게 되었습니다. 하나님이 제 안에 담아 두신 놀라운 잠재력을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 제 생애 가장 소중한 점은 하나님과의 만남입니다.

둘째, 특별한 말씀과의 만남이 작은 점입니다. 성경 66권은 하나님의 말씀입니다. 모두 특별한 말씀입니다. 하지만 그중에 몇 개의 말씀이 우리 생애를 움직이고 만들어 나갑니다. 제 인생 여정에 중요한 순간마다 하나님의 특별한 말씀과의 만남이 있었습니다. 여호수아 1장 8절의 말씀은 말씀 묵상의 소중함을 깨닫게 해 준 말씀입니다. “이 율법책을 네 입에서 떠나지 말게 하며 주야로 그것을 묵상하여 그 안에 기록된 대로 다 지켜 행하라 그리하면 네 길이 평탄하게 될 것이며 네가 형통하리라” 요한복음 14장 12절의 말씀은 제게 큰 꿈을 품게 해 준 말씀입니다. “내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 나를 믿는 자는 내가 하는 일을 그도 할 것이요 또한 그보다 큰일도 하리니 이는 내가 아버지께로 감이라” 골로새서 2장 7절의 말씀은 뿌리 깊은 영성을 추구하게 해 준 말씀입니다. “그 안에 뿌리를 박으며 세움을 받아 교훈을 받은 대로 믿음에 굳게 서서 감사함을 넘치게 하라” 이 말씀 외에도 제 삶을 움직이는 말씀이 많습니다.

셋째, 좋은 만남이 작은 점입니다. 인생은 만남입니다. 인생은 만남에 의해서 만들어져 갑니다. 좋은 만남은 우리 생애를 변화시키는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 하나님을 더욱 깊이 알아가도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 우리 안에 있는 재능과 은사를 깨닫도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 우리에게 새로운 기회를 제공해 주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 좋은 책을 소개해 주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 좋은 멘토를 만나도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 좋은 만남은 우리 안에 있는 가능성에 눈을 뜨도록 도와주는 만남입니다. 루스티 베르쿠스는 “인생에는 가끔 신비한 만남이 찾아와서 우리를 인정해 주고 우리가 어떤 사람이 될 수 있는가를 일깨워준다. 그리하여 우리가 가진 큰 가능성이 비로소 빛을 발하기 시작한다.”고 말했습니다.

넷째, 고난과의 만남이 작은 점입니다. 고난은 하나님의 변장된 축복입니다. 우리는 고난이라는 손님을 반가워하지 않습니다. 하지만 우리를 변화시킨 가장 소중한 사건은 고난이라는 사건입니다. 고통은 우리를 변화시키고, 고통은 교훈을 남깁니다. 우리 인생은 벼랑 끝에서 새롭게 전개될 때가 많이 있습니다. 하나님은 고난을 낭비하지 않으십니다. 하나님의 사람에게 있어 고난은 새로운 간증의 시작입니다. 하나님은 고난을 통해 새로운 드라마를 쓰시는 분입니다. 하나님은 고난의 때에 개입하십니다. 고난의 때에 함께 하십니다. 고난은 우리 삶의 충격입니다. 위기입니다. 도전입니다. 고난은 우리를 가만히 두지 않습니다. 우리를 변화하도록 자극합니다. 우리 삶의 놀라운 스토리는 고난을 통해 전개됩니다. 그래서 고난은 우리가 좋아하지 않지만 필요한 것입니다.

다섯째, 하나님의 축복을 경험하는 것이 작은 점입니다. 하나님의 은혜를 경험하는 것이 작은 점입니다. 우리가 생각하지 못했던 길이 열리고, 기회가 주어질 때 그것은 하나님의 축복과 은혜입니다. 우리가 받은 구원은 우리의 노력이 아니라 하나님의 은혜입니다. 우리 인생을 변화시키는 것은 고난만이 아닙니다. 하나님의 풍성한 은혜와 축복입니다. 하나님의 차고 넘치는 은혜를 경험할 때 우리는 변화됩니다. 중요한 것은 균형입니다. 고난만 강조해서는 안 됩니다. 하나님의 은혜와 축복을 함께 강조해야 합니다. 하나님은 고난을 통해서만이 아니라 축복을 통해서 우리를 변화시키십니다. 잠시 시간을 내어 인생을 돌아보십시오. 소중한 작은 점들을 연결시켜 보십시오. 소중한 작은 점들을 연결시켜 글을 써 보십시오. 그것이 바로 여러분의 자서전입니다.

Wisdom of Connecting Little Dots

It is the little dots that make up our lives. Steve Jobs said, "Life is a series of dots. So you must trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future." He knew how to see the amazing potential in the little dots. The things that change and grow our lives are the little dots. In order to change, we need to realize the importance of small things over and over again. Every change starts small. Even great achievements begin with small things. It is not wise to ignore and neglect the little things. Wisdom is seeing the infinite potential in the little things. Insight is the ability to see small things grow bigger and bigger to create amazing changes. When I look back on my life, it's the little dots that have shaped my life. If you connect those little dots, you can read the story of God's providence. I would like to introduce a few small things that changed my life.

First, encountering God was a small dot. I met Jesus when I finished my high school exams. It was then that I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. That one moment changed my life. When I met God, I realized that God loves me and has wonderful plans for me. After meeting God, I began to dream. I realized the amazing potential that God had in me. The most precious dot in my life is my encounter with God.

Second, encountering the special Word was a small dot. The 66 books of the Bible are the Word of God. All are special words. However, some of them move and shape our lives. At every critical moment in my life's journey, there was an encounter with God's special Word. The words of Joshua 1:8 made us realize the importance of meditating on the Word. "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." The words of John 14:12 are the words that made me dream big. "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." Colossians 2:7 is a verse that inspired me to seek deep-rooted spirituality. "rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Besides these words, many other words move my life.

Third, a good encounter was a small dot. Life is an encounter. Life is made up of meetings. A good encounter is an encounter that changes our lives. A good encounter is an encounter that helps you to know God more deeply. A good encounter helps us realize the talents and gifts within us. A good encounter is an encounter that offers us new opportunities. A good encounter is an encounter that introduces a good book. A good encounter is an encounter that helps you find a good mentor. A good encounter allows us to open our eyes to the possibilities within us. Rusty Berkus said, "There comes that mysterious meeting in life when someone acknowledges who we are and what we can be, igniting the circuits of our highest potential."

Fourth, encountering hardships was a small dot. Suffering is a blessing in disguise from God. We do not welcome guests of hardship. But the most precious event that changed us is the event of suffering. Pain changes us, and pain leaves lessons. Many times in our lives, new developments occur on the edge of a cliff. God does not waste suffering. For the man of God, suffering is the beginning of new testimony. God writes a new drama through suffering. God intervenes in times of trouble. He is with you in times of trouble. Suffering is a shock in our lives. It is a crisis. It's a challenge. Suffering does not leave us alone. It motivates us to change. The amazing story of our lives unfolds through hardship. So, suffering is something we don't like but a necessity.

Fifth, experiencing God's blessing was a small dot. Experience God's grace is a small dot. It is God's blessing and grace when a road we never thought of opens up and when an opportunity is given. The salvation we receive is not by our efforts but by God's grace. It's not just hardships that change our lives. It is God's abundant grace and blessings. When we experience God's overflowing grace, we are transformed. The important thing is balance. Don't just emphasize suffering. We must emphasize together with God's grace and blessing. God transforms us not only through suffering but also through blessings. Take a moment to reflect on your life. Connect the precious little dots. Write a story by connecting the precious little dots. That's your autobiography.
